DAY .. 26.February 2007 - Perfect
Got a couple of good flights with my Pike Perfect before the winch popped out of the ice. Guess I was a bit fast when I drilled it down... Had one flight with 2mm camber (112mm CG) and one with flush trailing edge. Difference is small in todays conditions but it was there. Small bumps here and there and not really good conditions but nice testing conditions.

DAY .. 24.February 2007 - Diablo from RC-flight.com
Snowed again but the guys are in action. This time Geir Atle and Tom Olav cleared the field. Good work guys. I got a flight with my Diablo as this is a great model to just get out for a quick flight.


 

DAY .. 23.February 2007
Been cold and a bit snow but the field is open so maybe tomorrow. Today we had the usual Friday indoor and we had a good time. I flew my two "NoLiemits". Some pictures in an album HERE

DAY .. 19.February 2007
A bit colder today with -8C but the sun was up and with no wind and dry conditions it was great to a have a winch session and test the improved Crossover. I had more paint on the front part of the wing and got a glossy finish after a whole lot of rubbing on the whole wing also. This and a bit more forward CG was today's testing object together with my Pike Giant taht worked as a comparing model. All flights were with a logger so I could check the minimum sink rate. Flying straight the difference was almost nothing but circling made a bit difference so I clearly have more work here. Launching conditions were not good today but that was nice since I then got to fine tune a bit the launch. I love to have something to work with. Would be boring just to fly holes in the sky in stupid air.




DAY .. 18.February 2007
Wonderful weather and my Extra got 3 flights on the ice. It was also X5J Extreme but I only flew one flight as I wanted to fly more Extra instead. I also got a flight with the Joker heli to take pictures of the flying field. But it was difficult to get the whole field standing in the middle of it. I should have gone to the end of it instead. I dont like flying a 10S heli that far away in the sun. Lots more smoke-pictures HERE


DAY .. 17.February 2007
Someone's got to do it... The Rally guys in
Rally Norway have ice pegs and large spoilers to shuffle the snow in the extreme conditions we had today. But hey we also got large ice pegs and a much larger shuffle on our car ;-) 4 hours and 20liter fuel and we are good to go again with 450x20m + depo 200x15 + car park! Ok we only got 45 hp or something but 4x4 and heater ;-)

DAY .. 16.February 2007
Indoor and 4 guys flew today. I managed to get small damage on all the 3 models I brought but had a good time and got lots of flying in. Good thing I had 3... I also got some stick time on Rune's new Pitts Shockflyer and a flying hut we finally got in the air. Funny thing ;-) Hans Magne got it on video so maybe I can get some of it on the net later.


DAY .. 15.February 2007
Took some heli photos of a local football field (to show the users that it is as always ready and green) and also tested the downlink. I have a small screen I can see the pictures I am taking and check if the photos is ok. It works pretty well and I dont have to land to check if I have a decent angle.

Finished the second NoLiemits today and had a couple of flights. Weight without battery 147g with Klepaker engine and this one built with hot glue (last one built with CA and UHU por). Flew well and I made this one a little stiffer in the tail. I also stiffened up the first one a bit (cost me 2,4g)

DAY .. 14.February 2007 - Perfect
Oh so nice to just pick a plane out of the hangar - launch - and feel comfortable immediately. I love my Perfect ;-)
-7C and a tiny breeze on the ice. Had 3 long flights (Short line) and tested some setups. Standing on the ground the air feels and looks dead but flying and feeling the plane you can fly in and out of thermals. Dont belive me? Look at this log

DAY .. 13.February 2007 - NoLiemits
Halfway thru my second one and got a couple of flights with the first one. If you want F3A style you dont need the angled "rudders" on the ailerons but for 3D style they work great. The model flies very slow and the way I installed it and with low landing gear it has no or very little coupling in knifeedge. As you see of the pictures I have installed the motors a bit non conventional to save weight. It works very well. The AXI is just attached by 1,5mm carbon sticking 4-5cm into the fuse and secured with a drop of foam safe CA. For the second one I go for my old Klepaker Norwegian motor on 2 cells or 3 cells (works great on both).
The Crossover sailplane is also ready with new colors so now I just wait for temperatures we can be outside in....

DAY .. 12.February 2007 - NoLiemits
Had build the "NoLiemits" off course and it came out nice and light with 160g with 6g servos, the new AXI2203/46, 2s300 Hyperion, 8x4 and even with metal landing gear. I had to try it but even a tiny breeze made it too much to get a good impression. I think I will install the 450mah for outdoor or maybe even heavier battery. It is too light and big for outdoor. Might even have to shut of the air-condition in the hall we are using!!!

DAY .. 11.February 2007 - Ekeberg indoor
Went to the yearly Ekeberg indoor since I had promised to run the pylon and balloon race. Lot of pilots, lot of spectators and shops (10 shops) and good fun. I was not myself. Maybe too much flying in -15 C lately? But I did manage to take some pictures, do my work and try the only real new thing this year. The "NoLiemit" from Ultramicro. I got to fly the designers own model (Arnfinn Lie, also a sailplane man) and it was pretty nice. Thanks Arnfinn! It can fly VERY slow even with me by the sticks. So I bought two of them to build myself. Pictures HERE

DAY .. 10.February 2007 - Extra 300 from RC-flight.com
The ice is ready with 450x25m field and depo apx 250x15. Me and Geir Atle worked our small 4 wheel drive for a couple of hours. I had to be first up off course with my Extra 300. -17C today so only two flights of 5-6min but my batteries seems to cope with it nicely. Today they had been in a heated car though. Geir Atle took a few pictures of me flying and drove me out to the field in his car (I did not want to drive out there with my heavy car).

DAY .. 9.February 2007
Got a very cool from USA but are not sure if I am allowed to reveal it yet. Got it tested in two flights and it seems to work well. It was very cold today so a nice test for electronics and high amps in my Organic 2,5m. Rune took the picture.
Later in the evening we flew some indoor. Nice to see Hans Magne had good track of his small heli. Nose in and figure eights was no problems for him. He has been practicing! Kjell Arne with son (also got a little grip on this easy heli) and Arild was there. I flew my good old 3DX mini and the Bipe Flatana from RC-flight.com

DAY .. 8.February 2007 - Extra 300 from RC-flight.com
Very cold but I wanted so bad to fly so took out the Extra for 2 flights and the Vorlon for one. -12C but colder just as the sun came down. The batteries in the Extra had no problems though I did not fly them empty. I have some bright LED's that show if the voltage drops but 5-7min flight and no blinking (normal flight is up to 10-12min). That is interresting since the batteries had been in the car all night.

DAY .. 7.February 2007 - Vorlon
A friend (Kjell Sture Johansen) has made moulds for a small electric sailplane and the design is nice so I got him to make me one. The finish is not something like a producer but it flies and with UMS carbon in the spar and heavy layup I doubt I can brake it in the air.

Went out with the Extra (2,14m with Hacker C50 and 10S lipo) and had a cool flight in windy conditions. It was warm but winds at 5-6m/s. Tested some smoke on the tips and that was very cool. Pity the wind was high and turbulent as loops and stuff would look cool. But Morten did some nice shots for me with my camera.

 

January 2006 - Katana 2M motorflying and a tiny bit of sailplane flying and electric sailplane
February 2006 - Lots Katana 2M motormodel but also first F3J competition in Denmark, New Pike Perfect
March 2006 - Pike Perfect released, Fagernes Airshow and first days of Istanbul Open
April 2006 - Istanbul Open (3rd), Supra and the first F3J in Norway this year
May 2006 - One F3J competition and lots of rain. But lots of flying. Katana 2M in the air again.
June 2006 - Podhorany, Czech Eurotour with 2nd place and some F3B cup in Norway.
July 2006 - DS and went to Slovakia for WC F3J. Wife left me. very sad
August 2006 - WC F3J, bought a helicopter and got to be National Champion F3F!!
September 2006 - Lots of photo stuff with electric heli and National Champion F3J for the 5th time in a row!
October 2006 -
Lots of heliphotos and a crash.. Built the Adrenaline 2 electro
November 2006 - Got the HM King's Cup
December 2006 - Flying a lot of big power models (electric) but got a good session with sailplanes luckily
January 2007 - Very cold month but made the "Crossover" and got some good sessions at the end of the month
February 2007 - Plenty of flying. Guess my best January in many years?
March 2007 - Lots of flying on the ice and North Cyprus Open 2007
April 2007 - Istanbul Cup Eurotour, Krystall Cup and new Crossfire V
May 2007 - Skymax 4, Eurotour F3F

June 2007 -
Nationals F3J, 220mph DS, Skymax 4, Nordic Champs F3J and going to WC F3B
